I'm Swooning Here!

This dress!  This gorgeous find of a dress!  I almost missed out on this one, but when I saw that baby blue chiffon peeking out at me, I had to dive in for a closer look.  Could you find a more dreamy example of a floor length ballgown than this?

I've never had a full circle dress before & this one is just so floaty & light.   I'm dating this to the late fifties, early sixties, but the design is really classic and could easily be mistaken for contemporary.   Check it out quickly, I don't expect this beauty to last too long:  Eye Love That.  It's hanging on my office door for the time being so I can watch the skirt sweep every time I walk past it.

I Love Spectators!

No, no, not that kind... shoes, I'm talking shoes again.   I did a little Etsy search & am featuring the most drool-worthy finds:

These are a classic spectator colour combination in such a classic style!  They're size 5.5 and on sale right now for only $16.80 at:  Thrush on Etsy

Design Archives says it all; "..OMG these are fab".  These *are* fab -1940's spectator pumps; they've obviously seen some wear, but I can totally see past that -too bad for me, they're a size 8.  Listed at $89.

Also fabulous are these practical heeled black & white beauties -these would look great peeking out from a slick pair of mens-styling pants.  They're $40, size 6 and available from Little Lady Vintage.    **Stop the presses!   Just saw this bag, newly listed -how perfect would they be together?  $30 from Nod to Mod Vintage.  I know, I know, your bag doesn't have to match your shoes, but how could one resist when they are so obviously meant for one another?

The great thing about spectators is that you can find them in just about any colour combination.  Check these out -yellow!  Had to show two views of these amazing shoes to feature the great heel detail.  Available from Vintage Repeats, they're a size 8.5, at $35.

Oh, The Joy of a Good Find!

I've been looking for a pair of feathery boudoir slippers for the longest time during my thrifty searches.  Not specifically, mind you; but always keeping a quiet lookout -along with an entirely too long to mention "wish list" of items always safely secured in my mind's eye.
Today I saw them, sitting on the top row of the shoe sections in one of my favourite rummaging places -the perfect, satin lipstick red pair of boudoir slippers, complete with a pouf of fluff at each toe.                                          The only problem... they're 4 sizes too big for me.  I bought them anyways.  Tee hee!

Eye Love Vintage Toys! Especially in Robin's Egg Blue!

Check out this little beauty, in lovely distressed condition.  It would look soooo cute on my desk, holding paperclips, thumbtacks and post it notes.  Unfortunately, this little gem was sold before I even had a chance at it!  Tom Thumb -how delightful!
Check out Sweet Love Vintage on Etsy for more fabulous, unique finds -I have a feeling we'd get along famously.

My First Post -Listing Remorse

Yes, I admit, I'm having a bit of listing remorse - did I just coin a new phrase?
I listed these great, I believe custom made 1940's shoes the other day and because of their sheer fabulousness, I'm having second thoughts .  Plus, they fit me really well...
While I think about it, I will keep them listed and see if there is any interest in them.  In the meantime, I have them perched on my printer in my office to admire and taunt me.
